Please don’t let me be miscyberstood

The goal has shifted it seems to “do not go longer than one  year”. But know I am working on it.

Life, she sometimes makes it a challenge no?

Also a few other irons in the fire, though they are heating slowly at a….something that heats slowly’s pace? An old toaster? The universe? You can fill in the blank.

Some of the lesser known craft beers

Hello. Management is happy to report we are not dead yet. Always an upside when it comes to continuing to “get things done” as they say on all the popular life coaching cult accounts.

Who doesn’t love a good artisan craft micro brew? Made with hops named after some historic Victorian agricultural hero…water from a tiny mountain stream guarded by six generations of a rural family…labels lovingly painted by a manic outsider artist. Related: I am available to write your brewing company marketing copy.

Back in the ‘days of my yout’ as they say, before I acquired a liking for different kinds of beer, you’d sometimes order something you never head of and it was a game of chance with the devil. Once in a while they’d bring over that tiny brandy glass and you would think “Dammnit it’s a barley wine” but buddy it’s already on your bill so buck up and drink down.

Regardless. The comics continue, though sporadic. Hoping we can do something about that. Today’s is a swing at formatting for Other Viewing, so if you check it out on Instagram, you’ll get the idea.

Getting away

Still here. Things a mite busy but ain’t not doing this thing here.

Trying this one with a brand spankin’ new Pentel Brush Pen. I’ve been using a Kuretake brush pen for years. Love that pen, and just got my third. But thought I would try out something different since I hear about it a lot.

Can’t say either is better than the other at this stage. Both are excellent. Feeling the Kuretake can get a bit finer when I need it, but that Pentel has gots the deep black.

I actually use a whole bunch of different pens etc because I am a glutton for punishment. Perhaps that would make a semi-interesting blog post at some future date?

Well, let’s get this comic back on schedule first, I think.

Internet amok

The internet’s visit continues with unabashed chaos. Posted some progress images for this one on the twitter feed, and will in all likelyhood add as a blog post soon-ish as well. For those who have interest, this is 95% non digital – all bristol, pencils, ink, and masochism. The digital bit is at the end when scanning and perhaps some small cleanup. Which is ironic considering I work 100% digital all day at The Day Job.

Life is very complex.

It’s all in the spin, kid.

Sometimes I reflect on the people you see credited in comics and graphic novels for doing all the lettering and wonder what kind of world produces someone full of self hatred and masochism. Really. If you feel you are ever getting too confident, letter for five minutes. Problem solved.

Or perhaps I just need to practice more.

One of my end of week morning routines is coffee and an hour noodling a comic to death with paste ups, white cover, and 0.000001 markers. It’s getting obsessive. You would think I would just clean it up in Photoshop and typeset it. Yep. You would think.

Next week: the crew wraps up the 69 Tints story and it fades into canon as we move on into new waters. Or something.

Justifiable paranoia

The idea of a naked invisible exhibitionist amuses me to no end. He is naked, but you can’t see him so is it still a problem? He loves it but does that alone make it wrong? Is MacGuffin overthinking or is he the only sane one?

I think we all know there is a little Reuben in all of us. Don’t we? No? Well maybe you’re just kidding yourself. And maybe I’m typing this without pants.

The world will never know for sure.

Glorb.

Remember – feeling glorb is perfectly natural. It’s how you express the glorb that matters.
